Below is an excerpt of the words spoken by Steve Grace as the channel commenced transmission at 12 noon on Easter Sunday 1999. It clearly represents the desire and intent of channel management.

G'Day, welcome to a new day in Australian Television, a new era of quality viewing the goes far beyond the realm of TV entertainment. This is the ACC, here to serve you, your family, your church and the community where you live.

Yes, it's early days, just the beginning and we greatly value your support in this new venture. The potential to reach millions of people in their own homes with the life changing message of the Christian faith is now a wonderful reality.

This channel is dedicated to inspiring and encouraging people in their day to day lives, with wholesome programs that will honour our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

There is a great proverb that says 'Without a vision the people perish'. For many years now there have been people across this nation who have shared a common vision to see a permanent Christian presence established in the media. This is a very significant day.

The Australian Christian Channel is an exciting part of a new thing that God is doing in our country. The bible says 'Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See I am going to do a new thing. Now it springs up do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the waste land.'

We praise God that He has made a way for the Australian Christian Channel.

In 1606 a Spanish explorer declared Australia to be 'The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit'. Today, you and I can be partners in that declaration through the vision of the Australian Christian Channel.

Pray with me now: " Lord God, we commit this new TV channel to you and ask that you would be glorified in every moment of its operation, that it would be set apart for you and that peoples lives would be touched and changed forever. Heavenly Father, this is your channel we humbly ask that your hand of favour and protection will be upon this channel from this day forward. In Jesus name we pray. Amen."

The Australian Christian Channel hopes to become a trusted friend in your home by providing positive wholesome viewing. In the coming months and years we plan to encourage the production of exciting and relevant Australian made programs.

This is a new day and this is your channel. I pray that together we can dream the impossible, be committed to excellence in everything we do and most of all, recognise that this channel is for all Australians. Together we can impact our nation for good and for God.
