Every year in September, the Australian Christian Channel sets aside a month to share inspiring stories of incredible people making an extraordinary difference around the world. We also take this time to highlight the great work Christian child development and child advocacy ministry Compassion Australia is doing around the world, in releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

This month our programming will shift gears as we feature Documentaries throughout the month, which look at the work of Compassion around the world, as well as other inspiring organisations.

Compassion works in partnership with local churches that are uniquely placed to understand the real needs of their community, and are able to identify and address each individual child’s specific circumstances.

For nearly 60 years, Compassion International has worked to foster the spiritual, economic, social, physical and emotional needs of individual children through four holistic child development programs: Child Survival Program, Child Sponsorship Program, Leadership Development Program and Complimentary Interventions. From the womb to adolescence, Compassion provides support for children to live fulfilled lives, free from the constraints of poverty.

There are a number of different ways you can get involved to help transform lives around the world. Compassion Australia makes it really easy for you to uncover how you can take part. You can sponsor a child or Leadership student, support a Child Survival Program or Complementary Intervention or join the Child Advocate Network, a grassroots movement of people taking action to seek justice and life for children in poverty. There is something for everyone.
